New to Nia and wondering where to start? The good news is that every Nia class is suitable for new students, even if you haven't moved for a while or have two left feet! Come as you are... Nia meets you where you're at!
There’s no one way to do Nia. That’s because it’s all about you, reconnecting with your body, listening to the voice inside that remembers how good it can feel to move and celebrate life, no matter what age, body shape, fitness level or ability. We call it Joy of Movement. It's the secret to reclaiming your vitality, your health, your power, wherever you are in your body and life journey.
Our Nia community has a culture of kindness - there’s no judgment and no pressure to keep up or “get it right”. Throughout every class you’ll be offered choices so you can personalise your movement, tuning into your body to find pleasure and ease.
While it’s natural to feel a little awkward when you’re beginning something new, most students say they're more confident and comfortable within a few classes. That's one of the reasons I offer 7 DAYS FOR $7.
If you’re healing from illness, injury, or trauma, you may want to try out a Gentle Nia or 5Stages option. If you have any concerns at all, just give me a call on +61 431 484 054. Want to know more? Check out 7 TIPS FOR BEGINNING NIA
Nia is a joyful, barefoot movement class inspired by soul-stirring music. Simple movement patterns are infused with the energy of martial arts, dance and mindfulness to activate and liberate your body mind and spirit.
You’ll be guided to listen to your body, moving with sensations of aliveness, pleasure and ease. Adaptable for all ages and fitness levels, Nia meets you where you’re at and invites you to move in your own body’s way.
Nia 5 Stages blends gentle floor-based movement with somatic (body-centred) education with the intention to feel better. You'll be guided to tune into your body and move at your own pace through the 5 stages of human development - embryonic, creeping, crawling, standing and walking.
This mindful practice has the power to re-pattern, realign, strengthen, and increase energy flow throughout the body, while restoring and calming the nervous system.
Gentle Nia offers a nourishing whole body experience of simple movement sequences with uplifting music. Ideal for beginners, for people healing therapeutic issues (such as injury, illness, trauma), or for anybody who wants to move at a restorative pace.
Learn to slow down and personalise movement to fit your needs by focussing on ease and "feel good" sensations. Benefits include feeling more centred, improved balance and flexibility, intrinsic conditioning, and a felt sense of joy.
52Moves classes combine one-minute intervals in each of Nia’s 52Moves with an energising playlist of diverse music. It delivers FUN body-brain fitness integrating mindful awareness, cardiovascular conditioning, whole body connection, and joy.
Beginners… this is a great way to learn the moves and the “language of Nia” used in every Nia class.
Experienced students... improve your technique and explore your potential.
For every body… go at your own level!
